TAS5717: Asking for the TAS5717 MCLK clock source and BCLK WRCLK sync

Part Number: TAS5717

Hi Team,

Can TAS5717 use external oscillator to provide the MCLK without syc the BCLK and LRCLK?

it means the BCLK, WCLK and Data is from scalar. And scalar do not sync the clock with the osicillator.

Is that MCLK need to sync with BCLK/WCLK for TAS5717?

Thanks,

SHH

  • Hi, Scott,

The I²S clocks (BCLK, WCLK and DATA) must be synchronized, else it can result in clock errors. MCLK sync Is not strict because MCLK can run at higher frequencies than SCLK, but the ratio between WCLK and MCLK should meet the specs from Datasheet.

If the sample rate used is 44.1KHz or 48KHz, MCLK and BCLK can be tied if the frequency is 64×Fs. This operation mode will require only three clocks to operate the device.
