What is the best way to control volume with a 1W speaker?
My thought is to us a digital pot as the feedback resistor in figure 1 of the LM4876's datasheet. Is this a terrible idea?
Setup: I have a hardware DAC implemented by a microcontroller port putting 8-bit samples on a resistor ladder. This DAC output is buffered by a TL971 with unity gain. The buffered signal then is amplified by an LM4876.
