TAS5717: Not able to hear the audio

My set up is as below:

Vin and GND- 5V input

PVCC and GND 9V input, shutdown off, mute off and volume turned to MAX.

Lin- 1Vpp sine wave from Function Generator, JP2 shorted, JP4 connected to ADC , USB powered from PC, Speaker of 4 ohm connected across Left output of evm. all the clock jumpers are connected.

i see I2C read values from registers as 00, (0x1b, 0x50 etc) . we are not able to hear any audio output. Please help

Hi Nethra,
This feature should work normally on MC57xxPSIA + TAS5717EVM. Please refer to the jumpers setting on MC57xxPSIA board for input configuration at e2e.ti.com/.../3529.mc57xpsia-board-input-configuration.
Could you please confirm the analog signal is indeed on the LIN and RIN? Could you please also check if the I2S signal on the input of audio amplifier looks normal? And could you please try with OPTO and RCA input first to see if the boards work normally? Please also refer to the TAS5717 EVM user's guide www.ti.com/.../slou303.pdf.

Hi Zheng,

I have given a 1Vpp sine wave from Function Generator on Lin, I have left Rin open. Can I give audio input directly from my laptop to Lin? Please confirm.

Of course you can use the source from laptop for MC57xxPSIA board input.
