DIT4096: Asking for the DIT4096 audio format setting

Part Number: DIT4096

Hi Team,
Nvidea chip out the following I2S format.
1. I2S digital out.
2. 16b/sample
3. MSB first

Here is the DIT4096 format selection.
Could you please let me know which mode can support the the Nvidia output format?

Thanks,
SHH

  • Hi SHH,
Are you using the device in SW or HW operation?

NOTE that the Software mode provides the most flexible format selection, while Hardware mode supports a limited subset of the Software mode formats.

If you are using it in SW mode, you should be able to configure the device as follows to support the Nvidia output format -
For Software mode, Control Register 03H is used to set the audio data format selection. Data word length may be set to 16, 18, 20, or 24 bits using the WLEN0 and WLEN1 bits. For the given requirements, you can set WLEN[1:0]=11

For Hardware mode, the FMT0 (pin 9) and FMT1 (pin 10) inputs are utilized to select one of four audio data formats. For the given requirements, if the NVidia chip is suppots right-justified 16-bit, you can set the FMT0 and FMT1 pin to '1'. If it does not support RJ format, we will need to use SW mode as HW mode only supports the above listed 4 formats (limited by 2 I/O pins on the device).

    Thanks & Best regards,
    Ravi
