Dear Sirs,

My customer needs protection against output pins short to GND when Mono plug is connected.

I checked the data sheet and found the notation of Short-circuit protection.
However, the explanation of this function is not described anywhere.
That's why I have the following questions.
1. Short-Circuit Protection is short-circuit protection when Mono plug is connected?
2. Please tell me the detailed operation of Short-Circuit Protection.
What are the symptoms when this function works?
How is it detected?

Hi Yoshiki-san,

1) Each amplifier output has short-circuit protection.
2) The device outputs have internal current limiting in all cases so the device will not be damaged by shorting it to GND or between them. When the Short-circuit protection is activated the device goes into shutdown and the outputs are pulled to GND.

I understand your comments.

But why does this content have not been described in the data sheet?
My customer was worried about the case where a monaural plug was inserted in the stereo output of the headphone amplifier and I asked a question of this time.
By the way TPA 6130 A 2 does not mention Short Circuit Protection.
Is this device the same function?

This is an old device and the datasheet hasn't been updated.
It seems that TPA6130A2 doesn't have a short-circuit protection.

although not specified, the datasheet of TPA6130A2 mentions a current limit in section 8.1.
