TPA3116D2: Radio interference issue

Part Number: TPA3116D2

Hi,now our customer design for audio use TPA3116,which it have more Radio interference for FM;the Schematic as follow, could you help to give some suggestions how to reduce the interference of radio interference, tks!

  • Hi Darren,
Please try to adapt the PWM frequency with setting the voltage on AM0~AM2 to see if there is any improvement. Please also try to add 10Ohm+330pF snubber on the OUTxx pins. The EMI performance depends on the PCB layout design a lot. A good current loop and good GND plane are very important. Please use shorted speaker cables and try to add appropriate magnet ring on the cables.
    Best regards,
    Shawn Zheng
  • Hi Darren,

the key is to exactly follow the layout recommendations given in section 10 of datasheet. Your layout should exactly look like the layout example given there.

  • Hi Shawn, tks for your suggestions,we will try it,the PCB layout as follow, could you help to check it and give some comment, tks!

  • Hi Darren,
Form the picture, looks like the output traces are not quite good, which makes the return current loop(from the LC filter back to the device GND) is large. It's very hard to review the PCB layout design by the picture. Please send me the design file if possible.
    Best regards,
