TAS5755M: power consumption at PDN

Part Number: TAS5755M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5711

hi

Q1:how is the power consumption at PDN low active(Reset high deactivated)? Datasheet do not show.

Q2:Is it the same when enter shutdown by setting register 0x05?

Q3:As for TAS5780,when I set the powerdown mode and leave powerdown mode. Do the audio play back immediately like TAS5711(no other register set needed)? Do the DSP register retained in powerdown mode.

Q4:if TAS5711 power consumption at PDN is x mA, why is so larger then TAS5780(x uA)。

thanks a lot.

  • Ryan,

Are you asking about DVDD? AVDD? PVDD? All of them combined? Also this will depend on your output load, output configuration (BT/PBTL/SE), PVDD voltage level, etc.

    Please give me more information.

    Regards,

    -Adam
  • Dear Adam

thanks for reply. I think it's best to get the DVDD/AVDD/PVDD individually, it's ok to  present like the datasheet(Idd + PVDD noload). I just want to know the rough consumption at PDN mode which missing in datasheet, is it xx mA or is it xx uA? if it's xx mA, why is it so different from TAS5780 at x uA?

besides I don't think the "output configuration (BT/PBTL/SE), PVDD voltage level" has significant effect on power consumption VS different working mode(RESET PDN MUTE working)

    Thanks.

  • Ryan,

Unfortunately I cannot measure DVDD or AVDD, I cannot separate them on the board that I have here. I did measure PVDD, when PDN is low, I measure 3-4mA. Also when using All Channel Shut Down through register 0x05, I get the same 3-4mA.

The audio will resume from shut down the same as the TAS5711.

The TAS5780 is a different IC with different design and modes. It is simply a different design so the consumption is different.

    Regards,
