TAS5612LA: TAS5612LA POP noise

Part Number: TAS5612LA

Dear Support

The TAS5612LA have POP noise with power on/off

Do you have any suggestions?

The Schematic below

  • Yu,

The device looks like it is used as 1xBTL and 2xSE but the Mode pins are configured as SE mode (M1/M3 = HIGH, M2 = LOW). This could cause issues. I also see that the negative side of the SE channels are also connected back to GND through a second inductor, this is not common for our designs.

The lack of DC blocking caps on OUT2 while the device is configured in 4xSE mode can cause issues.

I would suggest reconfiguring the device as the correct mode via the mode pins (1xBTL and 2xSE which should be M3 = LOW, M1/M2 = HIGH), also removing the inductor on the negative pin of the SE channels may help.

    Regards,

    -Adam
  • Dear Adam

    I was try it,
Remove the inductor and change to 011 but the issue not repair. And the POP noise is bigger than before.
Do you have other suggestions for this issue?
  • Yu,

Which channels are making Pop noise?

Do you have a second board you can try with these modifications?

    Regards,

    -Adam
  • Hi Adam

The SE is bigger Pop noise,(out 3&4 is bigger pop noise)

BTL (OUT1 & 2) is the same issue but it's small than SE noise

    Do you have any suggestion?

  • Yu,

Have you tried a second setup yet? This could help rule out an IC issue or assembly issue.

I would suggest adjusting the value of C_START higher or lower to see if that improves the pop noise.

What is the status of the PWM inputs during startup and shut down of the amp? During both start up and shut down, the PWM inputs should all be running, 50% switching, with the no audio playing (or the audio muted), and the noise shaper/dithering should be turned off.

    Regards,

    -Adam
