DIT4096: Asking for DIT4096 application questions

Part Number: DIT4096

Hi Team,
Customer uses DIT4096 and found the output is only mono output.
The I2S in only provide to DIT4096, there are other I2S DAC in the system. other I2S slave can output stereo nomal.
Could you please review the schematic for this issue?

  • Hi SHH,
Apologies for the delay in response.
Thanks for providing the SCH for the customer system using the DIT4096. Upon reviewing the SCH, I did notice that the customer is using the device in HW control mode. To configure the dedicated control pins for configuration and status inputs, they have ability to pull-up or pull-down the pins and the SCH does not make clear if they are setting '0' or '1' on these lines...So I'm not quite sure if they plan to run the device in MASTER mode, what the SCK rate is among other things...

Now, coming to the MONO output issue, this is related to one of the modes that the DIT4096 supports...more specifically, we are referring to DUAL-WIRE OPERATION using MONO mode. This is to support legacy device where each DIT device is configured to carry data for only one channel. This is achieved setting MONO (pin 21) to '1' (Mono mode). We recommend to connect MONO pin to GND to make sure this input pin is set to '0' to enable the device in STEREO mode.

Also, it may be advisable to not leave the input pins floating. Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ravi
  • Also, please share the final SCH and we will be more than happy to review the same.

    Best regards,
    Ravi
