PurePath TAS5755M daugther board does not response

Hi all,

we have a TAS5766DCA_REF1 daughter board on an PurePath-CMBEVM-CB RevD Motherboard. This combination works with the PurePath Console 1.16 but not with the latest Pure Path 3. There we have the "TAS5766M_DUAL" package that refers to the TAS5766MRMTEVM. I see that on these two boards are used different packages of the amp but is a package out there that supports PurePath 3 SW with the old TAS5766DCA_REF1 daughter board or do we have to get a new TAS5766MRMTEVM?

Hi Kilian,

The TAS5766DCA_REF1 board is not the exact same as TAS5766MRMTEVM and that's why the PPC3 GUI cannot work with it.
I would suggest you get a TAS5766MRMTEVM.

Hi Andy,

isn't there a chance to just flash the EEPROM on the TAS5766DCA_REF1 with the content of TAS5766MRMTEVM? Because practically there is just an I2C connection to identical ICs? For me it seems like a self made problem.

Hi Kilian,

The EEPROM is not a real issue.

TAS5766DCA_REF1 was originally designed for internal testing only and we only sent it to only a few customers years ago. If you take a close look at its schematic, the SCK pin (Pin 22) of TAS5766M is floating. That's the major reason why it cannot work with PPC3.
