PCM1863: Connecting 2 Inputs together

Part Number: PCM1863

Hello all,

I would like to know if it is a valid design option to connect two input pins together on the PCM1863.

I would like to use a single 3 Pin header to connect either a single ended microphone (right channel) or alternatively connect a differential microphone (left channel). The attached graphic illustrates this.

As shown Pin 4 and 29 are connected in this case. Using a 0 Ohm resistor to selectively connect the lines is not possible in this layout.

Is the shown schematic a valid design when using the PCM1863?

Best regards,

Achim

  • Hi Achim,

    Welcome to e2e Forum.

Yes you should be able to connect the input to PCM1863 as shown above as long as you configure the device for the input config accordingly. Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Ravi
