SRC4184: SRC4184's behavior when I2S input is lost

Hello Professional,

I have questions for SRC4184.

First, Can this device continue to output I2S LRCK and BCLK signal when I2S input is lost.
Second, Is SRC4184 pin and software(under HW mode) compatible with SRC4194? In other words, Are these devices difference only electric characteristics?

Hello Kuramochi-san,

Yes, the SRC4184 and SRC4194 are functionally equivalent except the specifications are better (144 vs 128dB) for the SRC4194.

When the output ports are configured in Master mode then they will continue to clock out information even when the input is disconnected.

I'd like to ask you about 2 additional questions.
1. Could you tell me the setting which achieve minimum delay between I2S input to I2S output?
2. In bypass mode, Could this device continue to output I2S signal when clock is lost?

Kuramochi-san,

1.) Using an 8-sample buffer and direct-downsampling enabled should provide the lowest group delay of roughly 46 seconds/fsin

2.) No, when in bypass mode the device directly passes the inputs to the outputs and if there aren't any input the outputs won't function properly.
