NE5532: Quad option for low-noise, high speed and unity-gain bandwidth

Part Number: NE5532
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM837

Hi all,

I'm looking for a suitable alternative with 4 channels (quad) for the NE5532, which is a very well known option for guitar amplifiers because of its low-noise and unity-gain bandwidth.

The most similar option I found is the LM837. Its datasheet mentions it's "internally compensated for unity gain operation" but I'm not sure it has the same features as a NE5532.

Does anyone have experience with the LM837?

Could anyone recommend another alternative?

Many thanks!

  • Hi, Francisco,

The LM837 is a good option. It is similar to the NE5532. They share similar characteristics (some minor changes like the maximum ranges). But if you are looking for some specific parameters for an operational amplifier, you may list them in this E2E thread and I can take a deep look into our op amps portfolio.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
