TAS5806MEVM: with PPCMBEVM Amplifier B FAULT

Part Number: TAS5806MEVM

Hello,

I seem to have a fault on amplifier B of my TAS5806MEVM when connected to the Pure Path Console Motherboard.  I'm running PPC3 and the latest app.

I have the 3 band DRC 2.2 process flow loaded.  Passes hardware checks but hardware ID fails.

Amplifier A works as expected but when I go to the Register Map widget I'm getting a Channel Fault and the bits indicate LEFT CHANNEL OVER CURRENT FAULT.

I tried resetting the fault register but it doesn't take.

I tried resetting many different ways, it still comes up with that FAULT

The ADR/FAULT2 test point indicates a FAULT as well.

It does this with or without a load.

PVDD is 24V

I have tried an 8ohm speaker as well as resistive load.

What is weird is that sometimes when first going into Tuning and Audio Processing page and it sets up the amplifiers, I get a burst of audio playing for less than 1 second but then it cuts off.  I have tried preemptively turning down the gain just in case I was overdriving the output, but it didn't matter.

I'm stumped.  At this point I think that maybe I had inadvertently damaged the IC.  I ordered another EVM, it's coming tomorrow AM.  I just thought I'd post here since usually it takes a while to get a response.  I've got many years of TI amplifier experience an I've not been able to break outputs very easily, so I'd be surprised if that was what happened.

Please let me know what to try.  If the new EVM fixes it then the part was damaged (either by me or before I got it).  If it doesn't, then I'll continue to try things.  I will post in this thread with updates when I have any.
