TPA6141A2: About OUTL and OUTR absolute maximum ratings

Part Number: TPA6141A2

Hi,

Customer applications need to have rules in case an accidental voltage is applied to OUTL and OUTR.
Could you tell me the absolute maximum rating of OUTL and OUTR when EN = Low and EN = High?

There was a description of the recommended operating voltage in the data sheet.
However, the customer needs to know the absolute maximum rating.

Best Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi, Yasuke-san,

As specified in the datasheet, when EN pin is low, it is recommended to not apply voltages higher than 3.6V. Otherwise, it may result in a lower device performance.

I would say that when the EN pin is low, the absolute maximum rating for OUTL and OUTR is GND -0.3V to AVDD + 0.3V. These levels may result in device damage.

When the EN pin is high, any applied voltage may place the device in a protected state, disabling the amplifier. So, the maximum rating will be the same in this case.

I hope this makes sense, please let me know if you have further questions or comments.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
