TPA6166A2: Android Wired Handset V1.1 compliant

Part Number: TPA6166A2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3204, TS3A227E

Dear TI support team,

Does it comply with the Android Wired Handset V1.1 specification?

Thanks.

Jacky

  • Hi, Jacky,

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

Could you provide these specs in order to verify if our product matches with them or if we can suggest an alternative device?

    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • Hi, Luis,

    Thanks for your response.

Actually, there is a codec - Cirrus WM8960 for our audio circuit design, we'd like to upgrade our audio circuit design with to support 4 function handsets. Attached is our audio design circuit with the WM8960 chipset

We can change our audio design if TI can provide a total solution.

PS: Dialog have a integrated codec IC - DA7219, but, their operating temperature cannot meet out requests, our temperature specification is "-40dC ~ +85dC".

    Looking forward your suggestion.

    Thanks.

    Jacky

  • Hi, Luis,

Sorry, I forgotten let you know what microprocessor we used, it's NXP MIMX8ML4CVNKZAA. And, the WM8960 is the iMX8M reference design.

    Thanks.

  • Hi, Jacky,

Thank you for the information you provided.

Excuse me for asking for more details, I would just want to understand your requirements.

    - Could you list the specifications you need? I mean, do you need to replace the audio codec? If it is the case, could you provide the specifications of the audio codec that you need?

    - What is the information that you require about the TPA6166A2? Is this the device that you are interested on? What are the specs that you need for this amplifier?

    - Basically, if you could list the specifications and devices (probably with a block diagram) that you would like to replace, it could be also useful to get a better approach to your requirements.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • Hi, Jacky,

Thank you for your information. I think you require the support from different product lines. So, I would recommend to start two new e2e threads asking for the information below

1.- TLV320AIC3204 (audio codec). Does it support the specifications below? Do you have an alternative device?

    1. Supply Voltage - 1.6V ~ 3.6V
    2. Digital core and I/O: 1.6V ~ 3.6V
    3. Stereo DAC x1 - SNR 98dB, THD -84dB at 48KHz, 3.3V
    4. Stereo ADC x1 - SNR 94dB, THD -82dB at 48KHz, 3.3V
    5. Sampling rate - 8KHz ~ 96KHz at 24-bit resolution
    6. Stereo headphone output -
         6.1 40mW output power into 16-Ohm at 3.3V
         6.2 THD -75dB at 20mW, SNR 90dB with 16-Ohm load
    7. Stereo Microphone input -
         7.1 Pseudo differential
         7.2 Integrated MICBIAS

2-. TS3A227E. Does it support the specifications below? Do you have an alternative device?

    8. Support 3.5-mm Audio accessory detection (Android Wired Headset Specification V1.1 compliant)
