TAS5719: Audio forum

Part Number: TAS5719
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5717

Is there a diagram or list of the minimum number of connections and external parts necessary to get the TAS5719 up and running in order to access the I2C bus without any of the I2S or any of the amplifier outputs. I am having trouble setting up a custom breakout with the TAS5719, and have not yet been able to access the I2C registers. I would like to isolate the issue and just connect up the TAS5719 with the minimum number of parts to get communications up with the I2C bus.

I understand from other forum posts, that the minimum/recommended I/O connections to the TAS5719 for initialization are the PDN, SCL, SDA, RESET. Are both the AVDD and the DVDD necessary for I2C operation, or is just the DVDD alone is ok? Is the PVDD also necessary in order to startup and allow access to the I2C bus?

  • Hello Matthew,

DVDD/AVDD is necessary for device operation. You can look at TAS5717/19EVM User's Guide for a schematic showing the components we recommend for proper device operation. If you don't need to test a working output you can disconnect the output filter, but be sure to keep the bootstrap caps connected.

You can also provide the schematic if you want it reviewed.

    Best Regards,

    Luis.
