CCS/PCM3793A: technical question for PCM3793ARHBR

Part Number: PCM3793A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3107, TLV320AIC3104, TLV320AIC3110, TLV320AIC3106

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello, I`m Masahiro Kuroda.

I have a few question about PCM3793A.

・What is the difference between Common-audio clk and Application-specific clk regarding system clock (SCKI)?
・ Which clock should I enter in case of slave mode operation?

Thank you for your support

Best regards,

Kuroda

  • Hello Kuroda-san,

While the PCM3793A is an active device, we wonder if you would consider the TLV320AIC3104, TLV320AIC3106, or TLV320AIC3107 (Class-D) devices instead?  The TLV320AIC3110 is available as another option if a higher-power Class-D output is desired.

1.)  Common-Audio clock frequencies are those that evenly divide down to the standard Audio sampling rates of either multiples of 48kHz, or 44.1kHz. "Application Specific" clocks are common host processor frequencies, but they do not divide down directly to the common audio sampling rates (See Table 13).

2.)  Use a common Audio clock frequency to achieve an accurate Audio sampling rate.
