PCM1789-Q1: TDM support?

Hi team,

A customer wants to check if PCM1789-Q1 can support TDM8 48kHz. If it's not supported, can you recommend automotive Audio DAC to support TDM8 48kHz?

The Sam,

The only automotive qual'd audio DAC devices that we have that support TDM are the PCM1690 and the PCM1681. These are both 8-channel devices.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your reply. Would you please check again if PCM1789-Q1 can be used?

One channel out of TDM8 format will be used with below clock, and the other channel is don’t care in PCM1789-Q1. In that case, is it possible to use PCM1789-Q1 utilizing the left channel of DSP format?

Hi Sam,

It is possible that device will successfully latch the data with this configuration, and we have seen some customers attempt this in the past. I will test this in the lab.

I found that the device accepted TDM as expected. It should work fine.
