PCM2706C: Does PCM2706C Support I2S input to USB Bridge?

Part Number: PCM2706C

Hi Sirs,

As title, does the PCM2706C support I2S input to USB recording path? We see single direction I2S output on the first page f the datasheet, while we can se the I2S SDIN option with FSEL = 0. Would you pls confirm if the I2S SDIN functional with the PCM2706C? Do we need a driver to support this feature?

Thank you and Best regards,

  • Hi Wayne,

This is not a supported function of the device.  The device cannot be used as an I2S inputs device.  The DIN functionally is actually used to allow an external I2S source to drive the internal DAC in the PCM2706C.  This is really only used for debug or testing, as it would not be very practical to use an external I2S source with this device.

Only the PCM29xx family of devices support input functions.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Thank you for your advise. Would you pls provide the optimized suggestions of part numbers of PCM29XX to support I2S input?
We don't need S/PDIF in this case.

    Thank you and regards,
