DIT4192: Expansion signal with dual line driver

Part Number: DIT4192
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75ALS191,

Hello experts,

My customer want to make two signal line (SPDIF and AES/EBU) from TX output.
For example, making SPDIF and AES/EBU line by connecting dual line driver (e.g. SN75ALS191) with TX+/TX- output of DIT4192.
Is it possible?
Also, if possible, could you tell me what point should they take care, and recommended dual line driver?

I would appreciate if you would give me advice

Thanks and best regards,
Ryo Akashi
  • Hi Ryo,

I don't see any problems doing this as long as your terminations are correct. S/PDIF is typically an unbalanced signal and AES3 is balanced differential. Note that the channel status bits are technically different between the protocols as well so if you are using these you will have to choose how to assign the bits. I am not familiar with the line driver portfolio but it should not be difficult to find a suitable device. You may consider creating another post for a part you are considering.

    Best,

    Zak

  • Hello Zak-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
I understand it might be no problem, if termination are correct.
As you advised, I will ask interface forum experts.

    Thanks and best regards,
