TAS5722L: TAS5722L

Part Number: TAS5722L

We are using this DAC to play voice prompts and are noticing some siblance distortion around the 's' sounds. We are playing 16-bit 8kHz audio prompts and upsampling by 6 by just repeating samples. Our output is 5V max currently into 8 ohms, but ultimately into 6 ohms. We adjusted analog and volume controls, but the distortion is still present. We are currently using the EVM and feeding from an FPGA.

Any thoughts on how to trouble shoot the issue?

Regards,

Kelly C.

  • Kelly,

Alix is heavy working load, we are discussing your case now.

  • HI Kelly,

Do you mean you are using FPGA to feed EVM board with I2s format, right?

Then what is your LRCLK? Do you do 6 up-sampling in FPGA? How about feeding a 48K LRCLK signal with "S"?

As to the abnormal sound near "S", when you reduce the volume, will it go away?

If not, may you share your configurations of TAS5722 (all i2c commands) and PVDD information. Further, can you connect your PC to EVM board to reproduce this issue too. If you can, it would be perfect for us the do sync up debug.
