Hello

I'm currently testing a personal board with a TAS3308 + TAS5631 in a 2.1 configuration, during a test the TAS5631 was destroy and i don't know why.

When the problem apear only the central channel was connected to sound speaker, everything work fine and i have sound until i tried to live update the audio parameter of the TAS3308, when i do that i first mute the TAS3308 then i send parameter through I2C and then I un-mute the TAS3308.

Did that update sequence was wrong ?, did it possible to burn the TAS5631 only with a bad input signal ? , (apparently the short circuit protection don't seem to work in my case)

Guillaume,

The problem was most likely due to a problem with the filter due to the fact that you were running it unloaded. Since the speaker is part of the filter, operation without a load can cause problems.

Thank's for you're answer, i do not imagine that running some channel unloaded could cause such a big damage to the chip

It doesn't always happen, but it seems like with some filters and some conditions, it is possible.
