PP-SALB2-EVM: Alternative for Speaker Characterization

Hello,

The following speaker characterization board, listed here: http://www.ti.com/tool/pp-salb2-evm, does not fit my budget too well, with a cost of $999.

Is there an alternative to characterizing my speakers using PPC3 for audio chip TAS2555, or is there a budget version of the board available?

Hello, Adonis,

Unfortunately, the PP-SALB2-EVM is required for the speaker characterization.

The TAS2555EVM board could be also used for testing purposes but the speaker characterization always requires the PP-SALB2-EVM to work. Otherwise, PPC3 won't allow to enter in the characterization setup.

If I am able to characterize my speaker outside of the software, would I be able to enter the speaker characteristics, such as the impedance, temp, and SPL curves?

Hi, Adonis,

Unfortunately, the learning board will be also required even if you characterize your speaker outside.

Could you provide details about your project? This is just to verify with my team if it is possible to provide a board depending of the project volume. You may use the E2E chat in case you don't want to publish your project details in a public forum.
