SIDEGIG-XOVEREVM: Using active crossover with tpa3255evm with pffb implemented.

Hi,

I bought two SIDEGIG-XOVEREVM audio crossover plug-in module for biamping two tpa3255evms with PFFB implemented according to TI's document on the subject.

Since the crossover seems to bypass the input buffers (ne5532s) from where the pffb(post filter feedback) input leads were taken on the tpa3255evms,

Will the pffb still work? or do I need to modify the circuit or components for it to work?

Hi Khup,

It would require you doing some board modifications to be able to use the post filter feedback network whether you use the op-amps from the SIDEGIG-XOVEREVM or the ones on the TPA3255EVM.

Hi Robert,

I had modded the two evms with pffb exactly according to the document at http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa788a/slaa788a.pdf.

What mods do I have to do now to make the crossover work?

Hi Khup,

The trickiest thing is the AIB connector bypasses the op-amps. What you will have to do is make sure that you don't bypass this. Make sure that you remove R63, R64, R65, and R66 and wire a connection between the AIB to the input of the op-amps.
