Hello,
I have a question about full-scale input of ADC5140evm.
I think it is not working with 2Vrms full-scale input. ( refer to pictures below)
How can I make it to work with 2Vrms differential full-scale?
Regards,

Hello Pedro,
It doesn't work to upload the images due to security problem.
Could you let me know your e-mail address?
regards,
Jin
JIn,
If you have security issues posting here, you will have the same issues e-mailing. You can send them through a private message.
Also could you send how you are configuring the device and the input connections to the device. If you are using PurePath Console, you can upload the configurations parameters used in the EVM. By the way, Pure Path Console has presets for configuring the on-board mic that you can use as a reference.
Best regards,
Pedro
I have to use the e-mail system of my company to upload image information. So, I asked your e-mail address.
Anyway, I'll explain it by text below.
Device configuration
First, the device's overwritten with PPC3 GUI values(default).
Audio config is changed
- IN1P/IN1M
Input Type : Line input
Impedance : 10kohm
Audio Serial Bus
- ASI Output Configuration
Channel1 : enable
- ASI Format Configuration
Protocol Format : TDM
Word Length : 32 bits
Master/Slave : Slave mode
Bus keeper : Always Disabled
EVM conditions
- EVM is powered by USB of the laptop
- IOVDD : 3.3V, AVDD : 3.3V
- Input connection :
IN1P/IN1M, Header J5/J6 : open, Input source : Differential from AP525(Analog output/Balanced)
- Output connection
External mode(S1/S2 off), connected to AP525 by DSIO(receiver)
Even if BIAS_CFG register value is 0x00(default), It works -0.08dBfs when input source is 1.818Vrms.
The voltage is measured,
VREF : 2.73V, AVDD: 3.33V (measured by multimeter)
What is problem? How can I make it to work with 2Vrms differential full-scale?
Best regards,
JIn,
The configuration looks fine. Could you please send me the lot codes that are on the devices.
Best regards,
Pedro
Hi Jin,
I believe your configuration is perfectly fine and this is a result of the gain trimming of the device. Typically, audio devices are not trimmed for dc precision, and in the first versions of the device we released, the gain error could be as high as 1dB. This means the full scale range supported from device to device may be slightly different.
In the latest builds, we have improved this gain error trimming and would expect closer to 0.5dB or better gain error matching between devices (note this is not a spec that we provide in the datasheet. We do spec channel to channel matching, and that should be much tighter at ~0.1dB).
If you can provide the lot code information Pedro requested we can determine which batch of parts you have and if the error in full scale range is as expected.
Best,
Zak
