TAS5825MEVM: I2C address giving error

Hello,

When my customer tries to insert the U1/U2 addresses (0x98/0x9A) into the debug tool it gives an error:

Are we doing something incorrectly?

Should we instead attempt to use the I2C Master from the PPC Motherboard and jumper the connections from its GND/SCL/SDA?

Hi,

The I2C address is set by the resistor connected to ADR pin. Please make sure the setting and the address you use is consistent.

Have you got a PPC motherboard? The TAS5825MEVM needs to be used together with the motherboard.

Hi Sam,

I'm aware of the I2C address setting, the problem is when we enter that setting into the tool it gives an error. Can you please take a look at the picture I attached and let me know if we entered something incorrectly? The EVM guide says the addresses are set to 0x98 and 0x9A is that not correct?

Hi Michael,

I think I know the problem...

If you look at the error information, it says an address of range 0~127 is required. This indicates it needs a 7-bit address, while the 0x98 and 0x9A are 8 bit address with the W#/R bit taken into account. So for this tool you are using, please try with 4C or 4E.
