TLV320AIC3254: equalizer function in TLV320AIC3254 ?

Part Number: TLV320AIC3254
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3256, PUREPATHSTUDIO

Does the TLV320AIC3254 have an Equalizer in the program , such as the TLV320AIC3256 in the purepath studio...

What we would liike to achieve is :
1. create a threshold to block very small sounds out of sound picked up by the microphone.
2. use a kind of graphic EQ to alter the mic picked up voice frequency curve.
3. finally as last part before going out to next part in the project to have the possibility to raise or lower the outgoing signal volume.

would the 3254 or the 3256 be best in your opinion, or can you guide me to a person that can give me a good plan ;)

Will both IC´s be "live" on the market for long time to come ?,  so that we do not put in something thats taken away within short ;)

we would like to actively by a treshold take away all small sounds , then alter the voice frequency a bit, ie lower the bass and raise the treble, and finally adjust the outgoing signal so that it will give a mic-volume as close as the brands original mikes as possible.

  • Hello Bo,

    Cool sounding application.

The main difference between the AIC3254 and the AIC3256 is the output headphone configurations with the AIC3256 offering a GND centered headphone option.

Both devices have the same miniDSP and PurePathStudio processing blocks so if you're familiar with the AIC3256, then you'll know the AIC3254 as well.  Requirements 2/3 above are definitely possible and will work as desired.  #1 may be a little trickier depending on what you're trying to block out vs. let through.  What type of Audio signal processing blocks were you thinking about implementing to achieve this?

The devices follow TI's standard product lifecycle policies and since both devices are high runners still we don't anticipate any disruptions.
