TLV320ADC3140: PGA Gain setting on DC-Coupling mode

Part Number: TLV320ADC3140

Hi,

My customer is evaluating TLV320ADC3140.

They seem not to be able to control PGA gain on DC-Coupling mode.

(They have checked that it can control on AC-Couplin mode.)

Is this correct behavior?

If no, what can be considered as the cause?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,

If you are DC coupling the inputs with a microphone input then keep in mind the offset of the microphone is present at the inputs and this will be amplified by the PGA as well. This can very quickly lead to PGA saturation so for DC coupled inputs we generally recommend using the digital volume control instead.

    Best,
