Hi,

I am planning to use LMK5B12204RGZT in my design. I have below queries on the part.

1. I will be using using all 4 output channels and frequencies are as below.

Out0- 148.35MHz, Out1-148.5MHz, Out2- 148.35MHz, Out3- 148.5MHz

Does the IC support the same

2. How do we program the tool. Is there any tool for the same.

3. Do we have to use all the inputs. Or only primary and secondary reference inputs are sufficient

You can use the wizard in Ticspro. https://www.ti.com/tool/TICSPRO-SW

The frequencies can be generated with no problem. You don't need to use all the inputs.

Hi Hao,

1. I checked LMK5B12204 in tool and it shows error. I am not able to generate the frequencies that I had mentioned. can you please check in the tool and give us the confirmation saying the above part can be used or not.

If not can you suggest alternate part that can support these frequencies.

I am getting the following error ''

Error!

CH2_3 and CH0_1 frequencies cannot be generated at the same time. No common multiple of the two falls within APLL1 VCO range (2.5 GHz +/- 100 ppm) or APLL2 VCO range (5.5 GHz to 6.25 GHz).''

Sorry it was a mistake. I was thinking about the LMK03328. These two frequencies can be generated from LMK03328 with no problem. There's also a wizard for that device in Ticspro. Please make sure to assign two different PLLs to the two different frequencies.

Hi Hao,

I have only 4 channel output, I cannot use LMK03328 as it has 8 outputs. can you suggest a part number which has 4 or maximum of 6 outputs that can generate above frequencies.

Hi Shifali,

LMK5B12204 and LMK03328 have the same package size and similar price, so the number of outputs shouldn't be a concern. Please try the clock architect tool to find all the available solutions. https://www.ti.com/tool/CLOCK-TREE-ARCHITECT
