LMX2492EVM: "Output RampN Active" selection

Part Number: LMX2492EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2492

Dear Noel,

The "Output RampN Active" selection is working a bit  limited, it seems there is no Binary RampN Encoder inside the LMX2492

In a 8 stage Ramp scenario I wanted to select the Output signal for RAMP2, RAMP5 and RAMP6, but the "Output RampN Active" selection

did not provide the excepted Timing signals.

Via the "Output Ramp0 Active" of TRIG-1, TRIG-2 and MOD-output, I could obtain the following True table;

Ramp N Active MOD TRIG2 TRIG1 MUX
Ramp 0 0 0 0 0
Ramp 1 0 0 1 0
Ramp 2 0 1 0 0
Ramp 3 0 1 1 0
Ramp 4 1 0 0 0
Ramp 5 1 0 1 0
Ramp 6 1 1 0 0
Ramp 7 1 1 1 0

In Tics Pro User controls, the Output RampN Active (for N=1 to 7) selections seems to have no effect on the Timing output of Trig1, Trig2 and MOD.

Only "Output Ramp0 Active" (N=0) generates a "Ramp counter" timing output. So we have to build our own decoder for Ramp-2 5 and 6 selection.

Or is there an other way to make the "Output RampN Active" really active?

Thanks for your attention and Kind Regards,

Bert

  • Hi Bert,

I am sorry to tell that TICS Pro needs an update for these registers, these options are not available anymore. Datasheet has already removed them.

You may use Flags to monitor the ramp activity, there are examples in datasheet and EVM user's guide for usage of Flags.
