CDCE6214: LP-HCSL vs HCSL

Part Number: CDCE6214
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK00334

Hi team

Customer is wondering to use CDCE6214 or LMK00334 for PCIe Gen5. It seems that the big difference is the output level. CDCE6214  is LP-HCSL. LMK00334 is HCSL.

So, could you tell the difference of LP-HCSL and HCSL? And are there anything they need to take care to use LP-HCSL, not HCSL?

Regards,

Noriyuki Takahashi

  • Hi Noriyuki,

From output level perspective, there's no difference. LP (Low Power)-HCSL, by its name, is more power saving. Also, there's internal 50Ohm termination for LP-HCSL so no need for external termination. Traditional HCSL may or may not have internal 50Ohm.
