LMX2594: application problem

Part Number: LMX2594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04832

Dear team

The customer  want to use multiple PLL(LMX2594) into our design as below for phase array antenna application. The multiple PLL output have three case as table.

My question as below:

  1. Can meet case1 and case2 application for this multiple PLL structure?
  2. Can share sync signal for different frequency group in case1? How much sync cycle time for this application in case 1 and case 2?
  3. Could you provide multiple PLL of phase error test report?
  4. Could you provide reference clock 1 to 4 design suggest?
  5. What should be attended to in multiple PLL design?

Many thanks

Denny

  • Hi Denny,

Phase synchronization is possible but since all frequencies are belong to Cat. 3 sync, the timing between the SYNC pulse and the reference clock is critical.

In addition, the max. allowable reference clock frequency in Cat. 3 sync is 100MHz, the customer need to use a lower frequency reference clock.

We don't have phase error test report at these frequencies, we have a test report in https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-01410.

We can use LMK04832 to generate the four reference clocks and four sync pulses. The timing between the reference clock and sync pulse is configurable in LMK04832.
