LMX2594: Several questions

Part Number: LMX2594

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask LMX2594?

<Question1>
How much is the PFD's gain(rad/s)?
If you have it, could you share us as reference?

<Question2>
There is the description on the data sheet
"The ultra-fast VCO calibration is designed for applications where the frequency must be swept or abruptly changed.
 The frequency can be manually programmed, or the device can be set up to do ramps and chirps."
The customer would like to chirp output frequency from 1GHz to 6GHz.
Is it possible?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

    I don't know what is PFD gain. Did you mean charge pump gain (ICPout) or VCO gain (Kvco)?

    During auto-frequency ramp, only VCO frequency will be sweeping, other configuration such as CHDIV will remain unchanged. 1GHz and 6GHz output require different VCO frequencies as well as different CHDIV settings. As such, auto-ramp between 1GHz and 6GHz is not possible.

    Thank you so much for your reply!

    I don't know what is PFD gain. Did you mean charge pump gain (I
    CPout) or VCO gain (Kvco)?
    ->OK, we got it. We can confirm charge pump gain (ICPout) and VCO gain (Kvco) PLLatinum.
        The customer would like to know PFD gain as the reference.
        However, we think that PFD gain doesn't require for setting.

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

    Both charge pump gain and VCO gain data are available in the datasheet.
