CDCE72010 Skew between outputs with different divide values

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM7005, CDCE72010

referring to this chain on CDCM7005 phase skew: http://e2e.ti.com/support/clocks/f/48/p/56860/201996.aspx#201996

When using the CDCE72010, is skew behavior the similar to the CDCM7005? Given 5 outputs at one divide value (let's say /1), and 5 at another (let's say /16)

1) what is the max skew within each group using the same divide value?  Will it be the 45-50ps (LVPECL) datasheet spec for all outputs at same divide?

2) will the 2700ps (LVPECL) total skew number be limited to skew between groups?  BTW Is this +/- 2700ps, or is there some deterministic behavior (ex. higher divide value yields higher delay)?

Thanks,

Doug

    Hi Doug,

The skew behavior of CDCE72010 is not exactly similar to CDCM7005. CDCM7005 has just one divider and all five outputs share the same divider. CDCE72010 has 8 dividers and 10 outputs share the output dividers. For CDCM7005  max skew is specified at different divider conditions.  For CDCE72010 we just provided typical numbers.

    1. We don't have the max skew value. In LVPECL mode 45-50 ps values are typical values for only divider 1 and 16.

    2.  2700 ps typical number is only for divider 1 and divider 16 as mentioned in the datasheet.  We don't have skew number based on other divider conditions. I don't expect higher divider value will yield higher skew number.

    Thanks,
