LMK03318: Clipped sine wave input to primary reference

Hi,

We are planning to use LMK03318 clock PLL and would like to use a TCXO with clipped sine wave output for the primary reference. Datasheet mentions that the primary reference input is universal type and does not specifically say we can use a clipped sine wave or not.

Can we use the clipped sine wave for the primary reference or even the secondary reference?

Hi Dileep,

The input clock format is unimportant. As long as it meets the slew rate/swing requirements for AC coupled inputs, or VIH/VIL/common mode requirements for DC coupled input, it's fine.
