CDCLVD1208: confirmations about pin terminations

Part Number: CDCLVD1208
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCLVD1204EVM

Hello,

My customer is considering to use CDCLVD1208.
They would like to save required PCB area as small as possible and have some questions as follows.

Q1:
Datasheet 8.4 says “Unused inputs can be left floating to reduce overall component cost.”.
However, 8.4.2 says “For unused input, TI recommends grounding both input pins (INP, INN) using 1-kΩ resistors.”.
If INP and INN are not grounded with 1-kΩ resistors and just left floating, what would go wrong?
What are the differences specifically between “left floating” and “grounded with 1-kΩ”?

Q2:
Datasheet PIN DESCRIPTION recommends connecting 0.1-uF to ground for Vac_ref0 pin.
However, looking at CDCLVD1204EVM, 4.7uF to ground is used for Vac_ref pin.
Why EVM uses almost 50 times larger value capacitor?
Can customers really use 0.1uF as the datasheet recommends, or should use 4.7uF to get better performances?
If the latter, what performance would get better, how much?

Best regards,

K.Hirano
