LMK05028: TCXO mandatory?

Hello, according to the data sheet TCXO_IN can be left open. Can you confirm that the LMK05028 will operate without connecting the VCXO, please?

Which registers have to be changed in case the original configuration was using the TCXO, please?

    Hi Hans,

    correct, LMK05028 can be configured in 2-loop mode without the TCXO-DPLL active. So called 2-loop REF-DPLL.

    I recommend using the TICS Pro software to create a working setup.

    Step1: write 0 in the TCXO frequency field (hit enter that the teal color goes away)

    Step 5: Change DPLL mode to: "2 loop:REF,APLL"

    Generate the config via Step6.
