LMX2594: Refence setup for 2594

Part Number: LMX2594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK00105

Hi, can you suggest a reference fosc part number for the following;

Thanks, and Regards,

Siddharth

  • Hi Siddharth,

    We used to use VC-708 in our EVM, or you can find something similar.

    If you were talking about splitting a reference clock into two, you may consider to use a clock buffer such as LMK00105.

  • Hi Noel,

    Thanks for the response. I'm afraid for this setup. As the clock buffer LMK00105 suggested by you require different osc freq.

    As per my understanding from data sheet It requires 10MHz-40MHz crystal OSC and when i checked in eval data sheet the OSC used is of some 52MHz. Can we use the same or kindly suggest the part number for OSC (Considering the above setup).

    Thanks,

    Siddharth Shah

  • Hi Siddharth,

    Crystal is a passive device which requires an oscillator to generate clock.

    VC708 is a crystal oscillator, it can generate clock when a proper power supply is applied to it.

    LMK00105 has built-in oscillator that accept 10MHz - 40MHz crystal. LMK00105 also support up to 200MHz clock. Your block diagram is correct.
