LMK04832: Worst value of phase noise parameter

Part Number: LMK04832

Hello team,

The LMK04832’s data sheet only describes typical values for phase noise parameters, but I need the worst ones. Please share with me if the Max values are available. If not, average and stddev ones from the characterization data are OK for me.

In addition, if there are test result data in several temperatures within the test environment of datasheet figure2 and 3? (2500MHz and 3200Hz)

Best regards,

Ryotaro Fukui

  • Hello Fukui-san,

Our characterization data makes it hard to predict close-in performance for 1kHz and 10kHz offsets because these are heavily influenced by reference source, but for offsets where the PLL and VCO noise is more dominant, our 6σ estimate is no more than 3dB increase at 100kHz and no more than 1.5dB increase at 1MHz offset.

I believe we do have several temperatures of data for both VCO conditions, but it will take some time to locate it. I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can find it.

  • Fukui-san,

I did find the temperature-dependent data for 1MHz offset:

    Frequency Offset -40°C 25°C 85°C
    2500MHz 1MHz -139dBc/Hz -137.2dBc/Hz -135.8dBc/Hz
    3200MHz 1MHz -136dBc/Hz -134.1dBc/Hz -133dBc/Hz

Note that the typical data was provided at 25°C, so I'd expect no more than 1.5dB increase on top of this data for 6σ at 85°C.

    Regards,

    Derek Payne
