LMK03318: EEPROM NOT PROGRAMMING

Part Number: LMK03318

I am trying to program the part on our board and it doesn't seem to be saving to eeprom. I can use Tics pro wizard, apply it and see the correct clock signals. I then go to the EEPROM tab and run scrips 1, 2, and 3. But after power cycling I lose everything. I have tried programming to all pages.

Thanks

  • Hello,

Please make sure that GPIO3 and 2 are configured to select the correct EEPROM page. Below snapshot is taken from the EVM user guide:

  • I have already double checked that I had it set to page 0 and was writing to page 0, and it's not working. I have also tried writing to all other pages.

  • I think I have found my issue but I would like help in understanding the problem. The EEPROM was indeed being written to. The problem was that on power cycle the POR is not resetting the part. I have to pull PDN low and release it to get it to start running. We are using two parts. Part 1 is using a clock input from another location, and Part 2 is getting its reference from the 50mHz crystal that you recommend in your evm documentation. The part with the funny behavior is the one with the crystal. For now I have placed a 10uF cap on the PDN pin to hold it in reset longer after power cycling. I need to understand the behavior better to correct the design on our board. Can you please help with that? Thanks

  • Hello,

I'm a little confused with POR not resetting the part. Normally you can either power cycle the whole chip or toggle the PDN pin to reset the chip. The power sequencing guide can be found below:
