LMX2594: PRE-R and MULT use with SYNC

If I use the PRE-R divider and MULT such that the product of 1/PRE-R and MULT is 1 could I still operate in category 1 if fosc % (PRE-R * MULT) is 0? An example would be PRE-R is 2, MULT is 2, so 1/2 * 2 = 1. Would it be the same, from a SYNC perspective, as PRE-R and MULT both being 1 since the output frequency of MULT is still Fosc?

Hi Josh,

Yes Cat1 Sync is still possible if the conditions match. BTW, min. MULT value is 3.

To clarify, minimum MULT value is 3 if used. You can still get x2 behavior from the doubler. This doesn't change the answer - Category 1 SYNC is still possible under the scheme you've outlined.
