LMX2594: Phase sync not working

Part Number: LMX2594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01410

*** EDIT: further investigation revealed that INPIN_IGNORE was accidentally set to "1". After correcting this, SYNC function seems to be working. This thread may now be closed/deleted. ***

Hello,

We have a design using multiple LMX2594 synthesizers which need to be phase synced.

After careful reading of the datasheet and TIDA-01410 application note, we concluded that we are in Category 3.

We verified that FCAL_EN=1, VCO_PHASE_SYNC=1, INPIN_IGNORE=0 and that we are not violating Fosc or N divider limitations.

We made sure that the timing of the sync signal is correct, i.e. its rising edge coincides with the clock's falling edge.

The problem is that when we send the sync pulse, nothing happens - the phase relationships of the outputs do not change or align.

Here are some more details:

- Fosc = Fpd = 60 MHz (no divider or multipliers in the reference path)

- Channel divider = 2, so IncludeDivide=4

- MASH_ORDER=2

- Fractional Denominator = 24

- Output frequency range = 4260 to 4660 MHz, resolution = 5 MHz

What are we missing?

Thanks,

Haim

Okay, got it (we'll close the thread). Apologies for the delay; even if you did figure out your problem within 24hrs, we still should've gotten back to you sooner. Feel free to open a new thread if you have additional issues.

    Regards,
