LMX2594: Replacement of LMX2594 with LMX2572

Part Number: LMX2594
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2572,

I would like to manufacture a product that replaces the LMX2572 as a frequency-limited model by shortening the delivery time of the parts of the LMX2594.
We have confirmed that the packages and pin assignments are equivalent.

Is there anything I need to care about when replacing, such as registers and peripheral constants?

  • Hi There,

Register maps are almost compatible, but there a few difference, check the datasheet for details.

On the hardware side, since the VCOs are different, you have to redesign a loop filter for LMX2572.

There are several "bypass" pins, the decoupling capacitors at these pins are different between LMX2572 and LMX2594.

For the same output frequency, the output power may be different between these devices. You may need addition device to adjust the signal power that is going into your system.

That's all I can think of for now.

  • Hi There,

I would like the details of the register map difference.
Or would you please give me a file in a comparable format (.csv or .txt)?

  • Hi There,

it should not be difficult for you to make the comparison using the register maps of these device, something like this:
