Part Number: TLC555M
Hello Team,
Can you share with me the difference between TLC555MJG and TLC555MJGB?
Regards,
Renan
Hi Renan,
The devices are identical, the only difference is that the TLC555MJGB has extended testing. There should not be a problem using TLC555MJGB in place of TLC555MJG.
Best Regards,
Mike
Hello Mike,
My customer wanted to know what do you mean by "Extended testing"? Is this Qualification based testing?
Regards,
Renan
Hi Renan,
It is tested at 125C as well as 25C. I don't have any history on why this was done.
Is the customer just looking to replace out-of-stock devices?
Regards,
Mike
Hello Mike,
They are just asking what is the difference and what the B represents? They also wanted to confirm if this document below represents the B

Hi Renan,
Ok, yes, I verified, this device is QML certified, the additional material/documentation that supports QML class-Q devices is mentioned in the included document:
https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sboa143b/sboa143b.pdf
I was able to find the documentation for the TLC555MJGB, so the "B" specification that you mentioned in the post above is accurate. We don't support distribution of this documentation on E2E, though, you'll have to go through sales to obtain this.
Hope this clears it up!
Best Regards,
Mike
Hello Mike,
Thank you for this. It is safe to say that the TLC555MJG is not QML certified, while the TLC555MJGB is QML certified?
Regards,
Renan
Hi Renan,
Well, I would say that TLC555MJGB is QML class Q qualified, and TLC555MJG is not.
Best Regards,
Mike
Hello Michael,
Last inquiry from my customer, is the TLC555MJG is QML certified MIL-PRF-38535 (Class M)?
Regards,
Renan
Hi Renan,
I'm looking for documentation on this but can't find any that support the QML certification level on the TLC555MJG. This device is rated to "Military" grade, but, I don't see any Class association:

I'll have to dig around to get more answers on this; let me get back to you next week. We have a holiday next Monday, I'll get back to you on Tuesday.
Regards,
Mike
Hi Renan,
We have checked internally, but, unfortunately we don't have any more information that supports specifically what "class" this device was qualified under. We have verified that it is compliant to MIL-STD-883, but is not listed with as certified as a specific "class". The best we can offer at this point is to clarify whatever details about package/testing/qualification that the customer needs in order to understand whether or not this device can be used in his/her system.
Sorry for the lack of detail here, we just don't have any way to track down an more information on the history or development of this device.
Regards,
Mike
