LMX2581EVM: Output frequency is limited if I change the value of R Counter.

Hello TI experts,

My customer now tests LMX2581EVM with CODELOADER software, and there is one problem.

output frequency range is 50 to 3760MHz is datasheet. but if I change the value of R Counter more than 8, VCO output is turned to red.

maximum frequency of output is 1.88GHz, and cannot see the lower frequency with R Counter 8.

is there something that I miss for this test? please let me know if there are anything to check on the datasheet or the program settings. Thanks.

Hello Chase,

the VCO frequency of LMX2581 is limited to 1880 to 3760 MHz. There is an additional divider in the output path that can divide the frequency to the desired value.

It is recommended to upgrade to TICS Pro: https://www.ti.com/tool/TICSPRO-SW
