LMX2594: Device disabled

Part Number: LMX2594

Hi Team,

I would like to ask your help regarding our customer's inquiry below.

I was wondering if I de-assert the chip enable pin how much power I would save. And once the pin is re-asserted how long would it take to reconfigure the PLL?

I would also like to know if the LMX2594 power supply is turned off how long would it take to power on the device then configure the PLL in full-assist mode

The datasheet states that the powerdown current is 5mA and it seems the same when the CE pin is pulled low. Is it correct?

Regards.

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

CE pin and register POWERDOWN do the same thing.

When the device is powered down (POWERDOWN = 1 or CE pin = L), all the written register contents are retained, we don't need to program the registers again after power up. Since the internal LDOs are also powered down, they take time to recover to their normal output voltages when the device is enabled again. The response time should be less than 5ms.
