We have a design for a very wideband synthesizer using the LMX2572. We need to achieve fast locking for any frequency within the entire VCO range, that is 3.2 to 6.4 GHz.
So we need to use full assist mode and my question is, what would be the suggested number of frequency points to carry out the auto calibration to allow us to build a look up table?
The idea being that in use, the software would use the table frequency entry nearest the desired frequency and still achieve a lock up time of around 25 us or so.
