LMX2615-SP: Delay of RFout and SysrefReq

Part Number: LMX2615-SP

Hello Team TI,

We have query regarding about RFoutA/B and Delay.

We want to use the output as follows, like Datasheet fig.29 of LMX2615.

Is it possible in this case?

 RFoutA1GHz

RFoutBUse SysRefReq pin (3kHz), SYSREF out  add  500ps ( 1/2 RFoutA clock) Delay

And, We want to change the amount of delay in RFoutB from time to time. (If possible, every 1k to 3kHz)

How does RFout A / B behave when the RFoutB delay settings are changed?

Is there noise in this time ? Need to stop the output?

Is the Delay step size only 9ps as shown in "Table 14. SYSREF Setup"?  Can it be changed?

From Table 14&15, the RFoutB delay calculation is SysRef Delay = 9ps * SYSREFPHASESHIFT (= 0 ~ 247).

For example, 500ps ≒ 9ps * 55

Thank You

Regards,

  • Hi,

SYSREF in repeater mode is possible along with RFoutA. Also LMX2615 has the option to provide the SYSREF delay in repeater mode using SYSREFPHASESHIFT or you can have already shifted input to LMX device. With you calculation 500ps delay could be possible using this.

There should not be any issue during the delay adjustment but for JESD204B clock functionality usually SYSREF is used for short time or pulses for link establishment later it can be OFF to avoid spurs / cross talk to RFoutA signal.

    Thanks!
