LMK03318: Loss of all clocks and cannot program status outputs

Part Number: LMK03318

I have two issues.

First we have several parts that are starting to fail. All clock outputs seem to die. I can perform a reset and they will all come back.

Second problem- I tried to use the ticspro sw to program status outputs to be LOS and LOL but they don't seem to be doing anything after programming, I have also changed the program to try and make the status pins output clock to see if it is doing anything. This doesn't work either.

  • Hi Megan,

Can you please share your .tcs TICSPRO file to help us debug?

    Regards,

    Jennifer

  • I'm going to send two files, one is RefClks, this is our file being used on the components that seem to be failing. Where all output clocks stop working but I can reset and they all come back. The second file, StatusSet is a modified version where I tried to set Status outputs for LOS and LOS for open drain active low, but the two outputs are actually driving 3.3 output. I can tell this because I have the pull up voltage incorrect so the pull up voltage is lower than the 3.3 being driven out. I was also wondering if you have a userguide for setting up tics pro. There are a lot of settings outside of the wizzard, inputs and output pages. I'm not sure what all can be left as default on the other pages and what needs to be set. Thanks

    RefClks.tcsStatusSet.tcs

  • Another question I have, If I have mute set to turn off the outputs when the reference is lost, does it automatically come back on when the reference returns?

  • Thank you for sharing the file.

We will get back to you next week.

    Regards,

    Jennifer

  • Hi Megan,
Yes, device will regain lock once reference returns.
Just to clarify, RefClk.tcs works and then after some time, the devices loses lock on all EVMs with the LOS/LOL registers enabled yet the registers are not flagged?  The status pins are not meant to be used as outputs.
We do not have any type of user guide for TICSPRO, each EVM has it's own user guide which is a quick overview on getting setup and running.

    Regards,

    Vicente
